Bhagavati Seva Puja
The Bhagavati Seva Puja is a Divine Mother Puja. The intent is protection from miseries, fulfillment of wishes, and spiritual benefits.
Here is a picture of the Bhagavati Seva Puja from the 2010 Northwest Winter Retreat:
Rema Devi will perform the puja per the Kerala tradition, just after sunset, to receive the blessings of the Divine Mother.
Attending the puja is free of charge. You may also sign up for the puja, for yourself or to benefit someone else.
The pujari, Rema Devi, will make a sankalpa (special intention) at the beginning of the puja for each person signed up.
You do not have to be present for the puja.
To sign up, the cost is $100 and all proceeds go to Amma's charities. You will need to provide information such as your name and Vedic
birth star, or, your name and your birth date, time, and place.
You will be able to sign up for the puja before the event, but we highly recommend that you sign up ahead of time.
Please e-mail Sankaran for details on how to submit information or to get further clarification about puja sign-up.
Amrita Yoga Class
This class is for Amma devotees only.
Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations) portion of Amrita Yoga is based on Amma's spiritual teachings.
Amrita Yoga Surya Namaskar can be integrated into the daily spiritual practices that Amma teaches, helping us to enrich our experience of the present moment. It integrates breathing and movement, with mantra infused into the breath. And yet, the form (or vinyasa) is simple enough to meet Amma's intent that almost all devotees can practice it.
You are requested to contribute $15 for the 2-hour class. If this prevents you from coming to the class please contact the Steering Committee(sssc108@yahoogroups.com)
We highly recommend that you sign up ahead of time.
Please e-mail Sankaran for details on how to submit information and pay for the class.

What is Puja
Puja is a formal ritual performed to keep us in divine harmony with cosmic forces, thereby removing and overcoming the sorrows of life and
bringing spiritual upliftment. By doing puja, divine thoughts and vibrations are created around us. These spiritual forces work to eliminate negative
influences in our life and help to surround us with positive energy, which can bring us peace of mind and prosperity (including material prosperity),
as well as enabling us to more clearly touch the Divine, our true nature. Pujas are traditionally performed in temples by priests trained in the formal
science and precision of puja, such as the auspicious times to perform a certain puja and the selection of mantras for the puja. An individual's vedic a
strology chart specifies which pujas and timings are ideal for each person, based on karma from this life and from previous lives.
