Shivratri - 2011

Shivaratri was celebrated with great devotion on Wednesday, the 2nd of March from 9PM - 1AM. The celebrations began with chanting of GuruStotram followed by 108 names of Amma and 108 names of Lord Shiva. Chanting was followed by Bhajans. We started off Bhajans with group singing of Lingashtakam followed by songs praising Lord Shiva and our beloved Amma.

Just before midnight, we started Abhishekam to Lord Shiva, to the vedic chants of Namakam and Chamakam. All the devotees present offered Panchamritam to ShivLinga. This was followed by Archana to Lord Shiva. We concluded the programs with Arati to Amma.

Devotees stayed after to help clean up, eat and take home prasad.
